Welcome to Schaffer Residence at Oakside Salmon Arm
Schaffer Residence at Oakside (previously Oakside Manor) has been an important resource for the Salmon Arm / Enderby / Armstrong area since 1965. It was completely renovated, modernized and expanded in 2002/2003 and was purchased by Schaffer Residences in 2007. At that time, it underwent another major renovation, resulting in a modern, spacious 42-bed facility providing complex care, extended care, palliative care and respite care.
Oakside has several spacious visiting and recreation areas. This includes more than 11,000 square feet of attractive yard and garden space, covered decks, sidewalks, planting gardens, raised flower beds and vegetable gardens.
The physical design and layout of Oakside, combined with our highly qualified staff, provide an environment that meets a wide range of care needs (medical, mild to moderate Alzheimer’s etc) for our residents. Resident access to the outside is secured and monitored by staff for their safety.
The staff at Oakside are passionate about providing a "home" environment for residents and their families, an attitude that is supported by the smaller size of our facility. Staff members will take the time to sit with a resident at mealtime if it is needed or accompany them to a doctor’s appointment. They are also highly experienced in a broad spectrum of care including specialty areas such as Alzheimer’s and age-related behavioral health issues.
