Schaffer Residence at The Hart in Prince George provides Extended Care services for 21 residents. It is located in a serene country setting less than 10 minutes from downtown Prince George, with convenient access to public transportation to parks, recreation facilities and other community services.
Residents' suites are located on two levels with a large central dining area, three large lounge areas for visiting and recreational activities, and secured patios and walkways. The separate library/games room, provides a cozy atmosphere with bookcases, chairs and good lighting.
The physical design and layout of The Hart, combined with our highly qualified staff, provide an environment that meets a wide range of care needs (medical, mild to moderate Alzheimer's etc) for our residents. Resident access to the outside is secured and monitored by staff for their safety.
The Staff at The Hart are committed to providing a safe, caring, home-like environment for residents using the concept of "Ageing in Place" which follows the "Eden Alternative" philosophy. Our goal is to enable each resident to achieve their optimal level of functional ability by providing care services appropriate for that individual. For example, we'll try to cook their favorite recipes, or tailor outings to their personal interests and activity level - little things that can make a significant difference to an individual's quality of life.
