Schaffer Residences Inc. is a family-operated business established in 2006 with our head office in Vancouver, British Columbia. Currently we operate three care facilities in the province with the goal of becoming a model provider of residential care in Western Canada.
Company founders, the Peretz's, come from a family that has been involved in the health care field for many years including their father Dr. Dwight Peretz (a Cardiologist), their grandfather Dr. Arthur Peretz (a General Practitioner), their grandparents, Dr. Leslie and Kathleen Schaffer, and several generations of Physicians before them.
A genuine desire to work in the field of residential care is shared by every member of the Schaffer management and health care team. This is evident in everything we do, from our policies and guidelines for care, to the day-to-day personal attention paid to the physical, social and spiritual needs of each resident.
At Schaffer we subscribe to the "Ageing in Place" philosophy and are trained in the "Eden Alternative," aimed at providing the support each resident needs to maintain their optimal level of independence, even as their needs change. Our care team is dedicated to ensuring that each resident feels they are part of a larger community and involved in meaningful activities in their "home" environment for as long as possible.
